The Low Emission Strategies Programme held a stakeholder workshop at City of London Offices, Walbrook Wharf, on 10th November, to discuss the development of new Low Emission Strategies best practice guidance, concerning the use of public sector procurement to reduce road transport emissions. The event, attended by 30 public sector delegates, heard presentations on the London Electric Vehicle and Infrastructure Procurement Programme, emerging sustainable vehicle procurement policies and how innovation in procurement can help accelerate the uptake of cleaner fuels and technologies. The stakeholder feedback generated by the event will feed into the development of the draft guidance, which is due for consultation in 2011. The Procurement Guidance working group includes the following organisations: Leeds, Greater London Authority, Transport for London, Yorkshire Purchasing Organisation (YPO), Greenwich, City of London, York, Sefton and Sheffield.
