Our Regional Groups have been keeping very busy since they kicked off their work in April.
Liverpool City Region has been focussing on linking low emission strategies with the LTP process. Work is progressing well to develop a Planning Policy Note on LES. There has also been a lot of interest and support in their investigation of the use of LES principles within taxi licensing.
Sussex held a workshop to bring together the key stakeholders within the region to discuss the development of a low emission strategy for Sussex. They are now reviewing consultations on Local Development Frameworks throughout the region.
Leeds has been working on projects relating to infrastructure for low emission fuels and vehicles. In the meantime, their partners in York have been given the go ahead by the council executive to develop an overarching Low Emission Strategy for the City. More information on York’s activities can be found on the council’s new air quality website.
We have published summaries of the project plans for each of the regional groups on our website. You can access them here. We will be providing updates on their progress throughout the year.
