After a month of inception meetings and plan drafting, our three Regional Groups are up and running. For the rest of 2010, the LES Partnership will work with Sussex, Leeds City Region and Liverpool City Region to deliver low emission strategies in their areas.
Sussex is focussing on embedding LES principles into local development framework processes, working closely with the region’s planners. To mark the start of this work, they held a seminar on Planning for Better Air on 5th March in Brighton.
Liverpool’s launch event was on 17th March, and brought together the region’s planners, transport planners and air quality officers. The event set out the aims for the year, which include development of regional planning guidance and engagement with public transport providers.
The Leeds City Region has an ambitious programme for 2010 which includes the development of an overarching Low Emission Strategy for York, regional planning guidance, and the implementation of low emission vehicle technologies.
